On this day in Labor History the year was 1942. That was the day that an historic meeting took place at the White House.

Black labor leader A. Philip Randolph, along with the head of the NAACP sat down to talk with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

She was extraordinary in her determination to bring equality to America. Born of privilege, she was a fighter for everyone who needed someone to fight for them. I'm thankful for having lived while Eleanor was still alive.
