San Antonio strippers lose a battle against Tiffany’s Cabaret
SAN ANTONIO A San Antonio strip club that lost a trial that resulted in a $250,000 judgment for two ex-strippers won a small battle in a separate labor lawsuit involving 45 other dancers.
A federal judge ruled this week that half of the 45 strippers that sought to join the class-action suit against Tiffany's Cabaret can't be part of the court action because they signed arbitration agreements.
Both suits alleged Tiffany's shorted them on pay. The club made employees sign the arbitration agreements a day or two after it was sued by the dancers that won the $250,000.
In March, a jury decided that Tiffanys shorted two dancers of minimum wages and awarded them $125,000. A federal judge doubled the award to $250,000 after finding Tiffanys did not act in good faith.
