Vanguard but do my business on line. I am surprised they are that bad with customer service. I made a telephone transaction with T Rowe Price a few days ago only took a few minutes and agent sounded like he was in the USA.

Let me know how that works for you...besides it's not my money....I'm just the executor of the estate.

They were probably inundated with panic calls from big investors to sell.

They want you to hang-up and just go away already.

This is the reason why I don't do the stock market.

When the crash of 2008 hit, the investing counselor at the local bank called to move her money and NO ONE ANSWERED THE TELEPHONE!

Great fun investing isn't it?

It is YOUR money and they are being PAID by YOU to handle it and you are on hold for well over an hour?

I'd take my business elsewhere!

It was a thankless job that I did not enjoy.

Some 25 years after one of the deaths, things are still emerging believe it or not.

The entire call ended up taking up over three and a half hours...

I am the executor of an estate and I was trying to get the funds transferred to a new trustee...

It goes without saying that as soon as the funds are legally transferred to the new trustee they will be moved from Vanguard to another source of investment.

I had considered them for my IRA.

They were acting real slick with me and barked, "Where was YOUR father born?".

Pissed me off and I did not transfer anything to them.

My IRA is in a credit union still drawing ~4%.

I have full control of it, not some idiotic mutual fund company that seems to think they are in charge of the DOW et al.!

I had to fire the attorney in one case as the people named in the will were pissed off.

As I already mentioned, a thankless job for the most part that involved a lot of work! It started in 1996 and was a trust!

Unbelievable!

Last July I rolled over a 4 year CD at my credit union at 1.44%. The previous time I rolled it over, 4 years earlier, it was about the same rate.

This has best 5 year rates of 1.15%

I've still got a few years to go (matures in early 2024).

Nice not having to worry about it!

That rate lasted less than 2 weeks if I remember right.

It had been at 2.8% for several years after the 2008 crash.

I did not make a mint but I got what I thought was decent enough and again, worry-free and never a loss!
