Although I am still technically a Nurse-I can't show enough appreciation for hard working teachers every where. People that have never spent a day in front of a class of wee ones presume to tell you how to do your job-forget your 10+ years of experience. Educrates have managed to take the joy out of learning and teaching.

If we keep thinking of ourselves as helpless victims, the danger increases that that's exactly what we'll become, seems to me.

How about this: "Take Your Teacher Appreciation Day and SUCK on it!"

I had two really sweet high school seniors that I have taught in 3 different classes come in and give me a Cookie Monster cupcake and a very personal and heart-felt note thanking me for being their teacher. That's some good stuff right there.
