Despite El Nino, California snow pack only 62% of normal

The snowpack was near normal in the north and central at the beginning of the month but has dropped precipitously since then. With La Nina on the way, it could be another dry summer ahead.

The even scarier part is that the strength of the La Nina is usually based upon the strength of the el Nino. The stronger it is, the stronger the La Nina.
