Related: About this forumEx-IEA official: Nuclear power can't compete with solar power
http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201807240045.htmlNuclear power is "ridiculously expensive" compared with solar power and cannot compete from a financial standpoint, said the former head of the International Energy Agency.
During a lecture at a symposium in Tokyo on July 23, Nobuo Tanaka, former IEA executive director, said nuclear power is utterly "uncompetitive" with solar power generation in terms of costs for building or expanding nuclear plants.
I was greatly shocked to hear that the IEA say that solar becomes the cheapest source of electricity generation in many countries in its 2017 report, said Tanaka, a well-known nuclear power advocate.
He has served as an executive board member of the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum Inc., which comprises nuclear plant manufacturers.

here in the Vegas Valley yesterday was a announcement of new Solar Field being built forty miles north of Vegas. Billions being invested, and will include Battery Storage. Funny thing,as the crow flies from this new build out, less than fifty miles away is a brand spanking new Uranium Mining operation in what is called the Bears Ears National Monument. Let that sink in a bit.
Oh,another three more of this mega Solar fields are either in the build out stage or are waiting State and County Permits. We are talking tens of Billions of dollars of new Electric Generation.
