But sounds risky from the standpoint of getting hung up in a runners windpipe at the water stations. It looks like you'd have to try to grab and hang on to a whole handful of them too to get properly hydrated. Plus you can't really pour them over your head during a hot summer race.

I think people would need access to some on practice runs before trying to use them during a race.
