Related: About this forumI just read a Tornado was headed to Wichita
Isn't where the Keystone pipeline is going to be in a tornado alley area or in the New Madrid fault area? If so anyone supporting this pipeline is brain dead and you know it is a major disaster waiting to happen.
Excuse my ignorance on the geography I have lived on the west coast all my life. Only flying over these parts of the country to Chicago and DC.

(40,416 posts)There are always tornados heading there.
And yes, the Koch Bros. likely hang out there once in a while, too. Or not.
I've seen two tornados in my life. Both were in Wichita. One touched down; the other didn't, AFAIK.
But KFDI always had live coverage and everybody tuned in so that they knew whether they were in danger. The KFDI mobile units were legendary. Hopefully, they still are keeping people safe in Wichita and environs.

(3,249 posts).... underground pipelines?
Strange for someone who has never been near the subject area. All your experience working on pipelines must be on the west coast?
Great post.

(21,188 posts)Just wondering. But even below ground, what about that neighborhood in Alabama?

(39,166 posts)but I didn't know that either, Kim.
I don't know which is worse. What's the incentive is to make sure all the joints are completely sealed when no one would be aware of a minor leak until decades later, when it's too late?
