Republicans protest 'draconian' plan to reduce greenhouse gas McCarthy will be tasked with directing at environment agency
The Senate gave grudging approval on Thursday to the key executor of Barack Obama's sweeping new climate change plan, voting to confirm Gina McCarthy as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency.

(794 posts)The gaurdian seems to be repeating the claims of the GOP as if they are facts. Especially charges from right wingers that the president is waging an illegal war. So does the gaurdian get it's marching orders from Murdoch or the RNC? Why does anyone read this rag?

(29,798 posts)It has arguably the best environmental coverage of any news outlet in the world.
You should be proud; when you are wrong, you really go for the gusto in a big way.
Seriously it an outstanding newsgroup and you should have it on your reading list.
The article itself is as titled - the confirmation and the GOP's objections.
They have open comments that have a high readership. If you think they've gone astray by giving to much voice to the Baggers, why not drop in and let your specific objections be heard?
Here is their Environment page, judge for yourself:
