RCMP Supports Freedumb To Frack W. Tear Gas, Rubber Bullets; Freedumb-Hating 1st Nations Respond

Approximately 40 people are due in court today, after they were arrested when an anti-fracking protest in eastern New Brunswick turned violent. Protesters are vowing to continue their fight Friday, and several more First Nations "sympathy protests" are expected across Canada.

The RCMP say they arrested at least 40 protesters Thursday, outside the Elsipogtog First Nation reserve near Rexton, N.B, where they had set up a blockade two weeks ago to try to stop seismic testing at the site of a proposed shale gas development.

They have been charged them with violating the injunction, firearms offences, uttering threats, and mischief, the RCMP said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

EDIT

Around 10 a.m., officers stormed the area where protesters were camped and things quickly became violent. Molotov cocktails were thrown at officers and at least five police vehicles were set ablaze. Police responded with rubber bullets and tear gas, and nearby schools had to be locked down.
