LA State Rep - Warming "Greatest Deception In History"; Her District Will Be Underwater By 2100

BATON ROUGE — State Rep. Lenar Whitney refers to climate change as "the greatest deception in the history of mankind" in a campaign video she released.

The Houma Republican's own House district and part of the 6th Congressional District she wants to represent in Congress could be completely or partially submerged by 2100 if nothing is done to fortify the coast against sea-level rise, scientists say.

In her video, Whitney makes the argument that liberals, like former Vice President Al Gore, who championed climate change awareness, push global warming as a strategy to empower the executive branch and raise taxes. Whitney concludes that stepping away from the accepted paradigm of climate change could lead to America's energy independence and geopolitical boom by creating new jobs in the energy sector and tackling the national debt with an increased tax base.

"Now the American dream is under attack, and the hoax of global warming is the dagger," she said in the video for her U.S. representative race for the 6th District that includes the northern portions of Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes.
