IIRC the claims made after Cheney's 2005 energy bill were that the nuclear rebirth would spawn around 20 new reactors completed or under construction in the US by now.
How is that coming along?
As for the UK's initiative, it too is faltering. The rest of the EU isn't impressed with the idea of nuclear in lieu of renewables; the gawdawful cost overruns of the new plants in France and Finland; and the ongoing cost/technology improvements in renewables.

Edited to add this, the most accurate cost analysis performed. It goes without saying that the DU nuclear crew were nearly rabid in their rejection of this as a credible work. It still stands as an example of what impartial, critical thinking can produce even in the face of massive public relations campaigns such as that waged by the nuclear industry. Severance took a lot of flak for this, but time has vindicated his effort.

He's the top dot on the right.
About as well as Snyder's predictions for the death of the nuclear industry.
IOW... somewhere in between the two biased positions.
As for the UK's initiative, it too is faltering.
Wishful thinking. They just announced selected suppliers in the UK and the deal is expected to be announced two months from now.

The rest of the EU isn't impressed with the idea of nuclear in lieu of renewables;
Also untrue. The "rest of the EU" approved the project. A couple EU members are fighting it.
