Intricate recycled oil drum furniture is cut to look like lace

I'm sure the cost of this furniture isn't exactly "frugal" but maybe it will inspire someone to make something similar on their own.



Re-emerging as cabinets and survival kits, the cylindrical form of the oil drum has often been transformed into finer things that no longer have anything to do with its fossil fuel past.

French designers Anne and Philippe Guilbaud of Dentelles & Bidons (literally "lace & can&quot take a fanciful approach to recycling these metal containers, cutting each manually to transform them into functional chairs, lamps and cabinets that are also true works of art.

I especially like that second set.....maybe it is the color. But you are probably right---it is more than likely not frugal. I get that idea from the "cutting each manually" comment. I could never get this to happen for myself, but people who are more talented than I am could get inspiration here.
