The McDougall Plan continues to work its magic! Epic weight loss journey now 2/3 finished!

Hello to all my fellow vegetarians and vegans! I just thought I'd drop in and update on my status, which I haven't done since back in the days of DU2.

As you can see from my signature, I'm now down over 200 lbs. and closing in on the 300 lb. milestone, which is a weight I haven't seen since my early 20s. This is almost entirely thanks to following the dietary advice of Dr. John McDougall (www.drmcdougall.com), which involves a diet based around starches, supplemented with lots of veggies and fruit. My health still is not perfect, and I have problems with my knees, hips and shoulders which diet alone can't fix, but it's a no-brainer that I feel quantum leaps better than I did just a couple of years ago.

I have decided (to borrow a common poker term) to go 'all-in' and start a video blog on YouTube. It's a place for me to talk about my challenges and my progress, and I am also focusing on giving hope and inspiration to the millions of uninsured or underinsured who have weight and/or health issues and who may not believe that simple diet changes can lead to major improvements, even without access to standard medical care.

Check it out, and if you like what you see, give me a thumbs-up and maybe add my videos to your Favorites list.

Thank you for your time and support!

Thank you so much for the heads up!

I've been struggling not to cry since I first watched Robert's video. I hope he'll check out the link for Dr. McDougall on my channel page and get back to me. I've offered to speak with him on the phone as well.

I will let you all know if there are further developments.

I think its truly commendable that you have decided to do a video documentary. The Biggest Loser in addition to a few other shows have done a great job of motivating people. I think its stories like yours, personally done make the most impact.

Kudos to you and wishing you all the grace and support in your journey to lead a better life! Thank you for sharing!

Mine bounced around hard over the last year due to stress, but you've inspired me to get serious about my weight and overall health. I've been blessed with good health, but I'm getting older and need to prepare for influences of aging.

And I was once a hardcore stress eater, which is a lot of how I ballooned to beyond 500 pounds. But now, when I'm stressed I am about 90% successful with turning to foods which are McDougall compliant to comfort me. Bananas are great for that, for example. And those times I do fall briefly off the wagon it's very easy to get right back on, because I'm finding that all the junk food I used to love as a kid and young adult has just gone to shit in terms of quality this past few years. There's just no incentive to eat the vast majority of it nowadays.

Anyway, I wish you the best with getting rid of your excess pounds. And thank you for the support and feedback!

But there appears to be a bug which restricts the signature to a single line when there's an image displayed, so maybe because of your screen format it's being cut off.

Anyway, here it is for those who may not see it properly in my signature:
