and is shipped to Nevada. It's Polish Rye, flour, salt, yeast, that's it. One large loaf is almost s $6.00, but it lasts me two weeks. I keep it in the frig., cause it will mold as it does not have mega preservatives. Real delicious bread.

I liked them when they were around here, but they pulled out of this market several years ago. Now for the most part we pick up bread products at the Entemann's bread store. There are a couple of local Italian bakeries I like, but I don't often get the chance to get much from them.

Ezekiel Bread. Wonderful bread, nice people. Expensive, but it's so filling I only eat half as much .

In the boonies of SC I'm lucky to find it at all, even luckier to have it at the Piggly-Wiggly only 20 miles from home.

I buy it for myself and a diabetic relative.

local grocery stores. maybe its growing popularity will make it more affordable! i hope so, for you, and all!!

is winston-salem just as far away? there is a t joe's opening there by august. makes number 7 in NC.

btw, i should add that our t joe's is a day trip for us. but the prices are so much better than anywhere - and even more, better prices for healthy food!! - that we plan and make that trip once a month, for a major monthly shopping!

has never seen a Bible verse on the bread wrapper or on the website. It's not a bunch of religious nuts but a bunch of nutrition nuts, saying, let's get back to some basic food. Something we could use a whole lot more of IMO.

It ain't made with shit, either, I don't care what that ridiculous website says.

I'm looking at a wrapper on a loaf of Ezekiel 49 Sesame Bread now. In addition to the sprouted organic seeds, filtered water, organic wheat gluten and fresh yeast, it lists the nutrition facts:
Serving, 1 slice
Calories, 80
Fat, .5 grams (no trans fat)
Cholesterel, 0 mg
Sodium, 80 mg
Potassium, 75 mg Total Carbs, 14 g
Dietary Fiber, 3g
Sugars, 0 g (no added sugars of any kind)
Protein, 4g (states the bread contains all 18 amino acids - a complete protein.)

No Bible verses on the loaf wrapper, either. The wrapper does state, "This Biblical Bread is Trulythe Staff of Life."

They have a very wide assortment of breads and related stuff like tortillas, mixes, gluten free and wheat free, all organic. Their cinnamon bread is just delicious and 0 grams of sugar.

Sorry to carry on, but I was just a little upset after taking a look at that awful link you posted that says they make it with human dung.

Suggest you try a slice. Toast it and smear it with raw organic honey.

After reading your response to the satirical Washington News opinion-editorial about Ezekiel bread it got me thinking that what I may find humorous others my find offensive and at times even worse.

I hope this unthoughtful disregard of others (on my part) has no long lasting effect with your enjoyment of "Ezekiel 4;9 Bread" or (Ezekiel 4:12 bread if they ever decide to make it).

I hope the next time you're smearing organic honey on a hot toasted slice of "Ezekiel 4;9", thoughts of "Ezekiel 4:12" do not enter your mind and ruin the moment for you.

Sorry for going on so long, so I removed about 10 lines above!

Actually I never tasted Ezekiel 4:12 bread because it doesn't exist (although Ezekiel 4;9 bread does). No doubt it would taste abominable. This is satire but, no doubt, there will be some gullible Christians and some Atheists that will believe anything. They don't read footnotes do they?

Both sourdough and regular bread. I have a friend who has a small mill and provides real good whole wheat flour I like to use.

but when I do, I buy what is on sale as most of the loaf turns to mold after I use just a few slices.

She usually gets creative. We grow a lot of herbs so she has a lot to work with (including caraway seeds, cilantro/coriander, basil, dill, oregano, mints of multiple types, thymes of multiple types, chives, etc.)

Not sure if this is a national brand, but it is in Wisconsin. Lots of varieties like "100% Whole Wheat" "Health Nut" etc. I go to the outlet store and get enough to fill the freezer.

Also make my own from time to time. Made some rye bread today. Also like to make Artisan bread. And my own pizza crust.
