Most excellent program about ISIS/ISIL, where it sprung from, etc

2 part Al Jazeera documentary, a most intelligent discussion, and footage....
Points to not only what US did to create the circumstances for it ( which we knew) but also Assad's role.

In the absence of a dictators like hussein, assad, mubarak, quadaffi and the rest in the Gulf and elsewhere.

The debathification of Iraq was a mistake but for reasons most would not of predicted.

The basic premise is that there has, for centuries, been a Sunni/Shia split in the Muslim world, and Western Countries, esp. USA, show no insight into cultural factors that would affect any destruction of the governing regimes in those countries.
The video explains it well.

Not understanding the divisions in Iraq between the Shia, sunnis and kurds.

There are more than a few voices in the ME that think Obama has sided with the Shia due to the Iran deal and lack of support for Morsi.
