Hundreds of thousands take to streets in London demanding second Brexit vote

Hundreds of thousands of supporters of the European Union marched through London on Saturday in the biggest demonstration so far to demand that the British government holds a public vote on the terms of Brexit.

Organisers said about 670,000 people took part in the march, which would make it the largest in Britain since a demonstration against the Iraq war in 2003.

The “People’s Vote” campaign, which includes several pro-EU groups, said they had stewards stationed at regular intervals to estimate the size of the crowd. The police did not provide an independent estimate of numbers participating.

The protesters waved the blue and gold flag of the EU and held up banners under sunny skies to call for another referendum on the eventual deal on how Britain will leave the world’s biggest trading bloc.

Don't know the process or the politics, but my sense is that "remain" has always been the majority view but too many remain voters didn't vote because they didn't think "leave" could win.

Plus, many "leave" voters didn't realize the extent of what they were voting for.

In any event, I would have though someone could have catapulted to national fame by calling for an "oh really?" referendum.

If they get defeated, you just keep having them again. Eventually, you will prevail

outcome. I’m so tired of losing elections and then trying to protest our way to the same outcomes.

All I want for Christmas is for people to be as enthusiastic about getting off their asses on Election Day as they are about holding signs.
