U.S.-North Korea nuclear talks have broken off: North Korea negotiator

A top North Korean official said working-level talks with the U.S. have hit a wall, according to Reuters and South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.

Negotiations have "finally broke off," North Korea's chief nuclear negotiator, Kim Myong Gil, told reporters through an interpreter, according to Reuters. Yonhap reported the talks have broken down.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Saturday that teams from North Korea and the United States prepared to resume discussions on Pyongyang's nuclear program.

The Swedish news agency TT reported that Kim arrived for the talks in Lidingö, Sweden, on Thursday while U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun came Friday.
