China takes countermeasures after U.S. signs Hong Kong act

China decided on Monday to take a series of actions in response to the United States's move of signing the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 into law, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

Denouncing the passing of the bill as a severe interference in China's internal affairs and a serious violation of international law, Hua said Beijing will suspend the review of the request for U.S. maritime vessels visiting Hong Kong and sanction several U.S. non-governmental organizations (NGO), effective Monday. The list includes the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), National Democratic Institute (NDI) for International Affairs, International Republican Institute, Human Rights Watch, and Freedom House.

"This is the price they are paying for destroying Hong Kong's peace and stability," she stressed, referring to facts and evidence that showed U.S. NGOs' backing anti-Beijing activists in Hong Kong, funding 'pro-independence' protests and inciting acts of extreme violence and crimes.

I wonder how they will enforce this.

It was known by China and the US for some time what signing it into law would mean. Do you think Trump cares a lick about the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), National Democratic Institute (NDI) for International Affairs, International Republican Institute, Human Rights Watch, and Freedom House? Why do I see a criminal act in everything we do? 'Give Ivanka trademarks and you can cripple democracy in your country. Steven Miller will know how to get it done.' Regardless of what deal was done, China wins. We already know he gave them free reign in Hong Kong. We are watching historical evil my DU friends. Keep your eyes open at all times.

China is the one to look out for. They are a more formidable opponent on the world stage than any other and I don't think that is being addressed enough.

Currently, they are on the road to being a major superpower in AI and other technologies. They are using that right now as digital surveillance on the population and using "social credits" to structure the society. Dissidents and misfits, (whatever you want them to be) are sent to reeducation camps.

You don't hear much about how powerful and influential the Red Dragon is, but it would probably blow some people away and I guess that is why it is not being emphasized in the mainstream and the major stories are about trade and tariffs which are only a superficial aspect of this.

China is sharing that high-tech surveillance recognition technology with countries that it partners or allies with. While it is offered as enhanced security, it offers the same totalitarian, (and inescapable) system of control and will infect its allies that way. If you have heard about issues with Huawei, that is implicated in the cyber war coming because it looks like the US, (still most advanced in the technology sector) and China may form a digital iron curtain where there are two blocks of major technology separated and in conflict.

China is a very big deal right now and in the future. With all the distraction on the most ridiculous, trivial things here, along with a host of unproductive, political diversions, most people are being kept in the dark about this incredibly important issue that is a major concern for us and the future of this country.
