1. Saudi Arabia and Israel were discussing normalization of relations. Since Iraq was taken off the board by us, Saudi Arabia has positioned itself as the counterbalance to Iran. It would be a BFD if the Guardians of the Holy Places made peace with Israel.

2. To distract from Iran's internal problems, particularly it's treatment of women. Nothing gets the Iranian public stirred up more than a good protest against Israel and the US.

3. Because they like to stir shit up.
