Abbas Says PA Not Bound by Agreements With Israel

Abbas also slammed Israel for building in the settlements and for the blockade over Gaza strip. "We can't accept the status quo," he said. He also blamed Israel for not acting against the so-called "price tag" attacks on Palestinians.

Abbas stated that those who want peace and to fight terrorism should start by resolving the Palestinian issue, the "beginning and the end," and accused Israel of working to destroy the two-state solution.

Termination of occupation was supposed to end in 1999, as per Israeli-Palestinian agreements, said Abbas, but Israel has breached all signed accords and increased settler activities.

Accusing Israel of continuing to violate agreements, Abbas declared that the Palestinian Authority "cannot continue to be bound by these agreements with Israel." He called up on Israel to bear responsibilities as an occupying power, saying that the situation was unsustainable.

Congratulations, Israelis--your sons and daughters will be traffic cops in Nablus and Ramallah again. Enjoy the fruits of your conquest.

“So long as Israel refuses to commit to the agreements signed with us, cease settlement construction and release prisoners, Israel has left us no choice but to insist that we will not remain the only ones committed to these agreements,” Abbas says.
