Allow me to diverge from my usual moderate ways and be a bit blunt, he wrote in a March 3 Facebook post after Netanyahu addressed the US Congress on the Iran deal. Obamas response to Netanyahus speech this is what modern anti-Semitism looks like in Western liberal countries. And it is of course accompanied by a lot of tolerance and understanding for Islamic anti-Semitism; so much tolerance and understanding that theyll even give them [an atomic bomb].

Baratz, 42, who was tapped Wednesday as media adviser and head of public diplomacy and media in the PMO, had said on October 25 that Rivlin was an insignificant personage, after he flew back to Israel from the Czech Republic in coach.
I think it says a lot that the president flies in economy class, goes around the plane and shakes hands with everyone, Baratz wrote. In particular it says that hes such a marginal figure that theres no concern for his life.
....
In addition to his posts disparaging Obama and Rivlin, Baratz also took aim at US Secretary of State John Kerry on October 18, 2014, after Kerry linked the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to the rise of the Islamic State terror group.
I went to see Kerrys speech, where he linked Israel and the Islamic State, and it was pretty hilarious, so I summed it up for you: After his term as secretary of state, Kerry can look forward to a flourishing career in one of the comedy clubs in Kansas City [where a gunman shot and killed three people at Jewish sites in April 2014], Mosul or the Holot detention facility, where Israel confines many of the African migrants who have entered the country on recent years, Baratz wrote. It was not clear what connection he drew between these three locations.

I welcome this candor. Thank you PM Netanyahu for putting Israel's cards on the table.

The Israelis seem to have difficulty respecting the US now that it has a black man leading it. Which explains why they continue to re-elect a hideous, racist piece of shit like Netanyahu.
Who then appoints hideous pieces of shit like this guy to be Israel's voice to the world.
This is Israel's idea of being a light unto nations, apparently.

(68,868 posts)This vile rightwing piece of garbage is the man Israel's elected leader chose to represent Israel on the world stage.
This is not some random blogger.
What is sickening is the contempt with which Israel's government treats the United States.

(68,868 posts)From the NY Times story:
Anshel Pfeffer, a columnist for the left-leaning Israeli daily Haaretz, described Mr. Baratz as a neoconservative, libertarian, academic version of Bibi, using Mr. Netanyahus nickname, or Bibi without diplomacy.
It reflects what Bibi thinks, he added. Somebody who says Obama is modern anti-Semitism, and Kerry is like a 12-year-old, somebody who is openly hostile to Rivlin its certainly what Bibi believes.
What he says is what many on the American left suspect is mainstream amongst Israel's center-right as well as its far-right.
That the PM chose this guy to represent Israel to the world certainly confirms that suspicion.

(30,109 posts)Ran Baratz apologizes to Netanyahu for not telling him about the Facebook posts prior to his appointment.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday denounced a number of past statements against senior US officials made by his newly-appointed media adviser, Ran Baratz.
Netanyahu issued his first response to the controversy on Thursday evening, after opposition politicians called for the prime minister to cancel Baratz's appointment.
"I read for the first time the comments published by Dr. Ran Baratz on the Internet about the US president and public figures in the US. They are not worthy and don't reflect my position or the policy of my government," Netanyahu said.
