Netanyahu: IDF has free rein to fight terror in West Bank

At site of fatal Sunday attack, PM says new measures include revocation of work permits for terrorists’ relatives, tighter security checks

The Israel Defense Forces is stepping up its operations in the West Bank and has been given free rein in the area to preempt terror attacks, a resolute Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday, as he visited the site of a deadly terror attack at Etzion Junction the day before.

“On the offensive side,” Netanyahu said, “we’re going into every site. We’re entering [Palestinian] villages, we’re entering towns, we’re entering homes, and conducting widespread arrests. There are no restrictions on the activities of the IDF and the security forces. On the contrary – there’s full support, and this is vital.”

Daily stabbings in any state in the US would bring about the same. Not really sure what the aim of the terrorists is here - just what are they hoping to accomplish?

Because here in the US we have a document called the Constitution, that doesn't allow searches without warrants or arrests without due process!

Now if that's your thing, you should move!

You obviously haven't read the Patriot Act. I don't need to move. The 4th amendment became a fantasy with the patriot act.

So is any country that wants to protect their citizens. Do you believe this shit - not one word about the daily stabbings (terrorism) but whining about how authorities are trying to protect their citizens. Let me say again, not one word about the terrorism and daily stabbings - those are obviously not something to concern themselves about.

A government isn't going to say "it's ok if terrorists keep walking up to civilians every single day and stab them to death." Don't know how this will end. I do not predict it will end with Israel unilaterally withdrawing to the green line and dismantling all settlements and Jerusalem neighborhoods. It could end in an all out civil war. I think that would be horrible for everyone and would end up with a lot fewer Palestinians west of the Jordan river.

I suspect some Palestinian leadership are trying to bring this about with the expectation that a civil war would be favorable to them, with ISIS, Iran and other Arab military support flowing in while the West blockades Israel and takes decisive punitive action. That plan hasn't been so successful in the past.

Here's hoping this doesn't develop into all out civil war.
