I probably woefully over simplify. Somehow I see peace seeking Gazans & combative Gazans. And I side with the former. dutch777 Dec 2023 #1

I am sure it is not that easy. But I really don't care Christian vs. Jewish vs. Muslim vs. other if they are peaceful and seek peace. I seek to have common understanding and give support to those that seek peaceful coexistence. I don't see any other long term workable reality. And I see endless escalation of terror and violence, on all sides, if we don't find a better way that works for all.

and I recommend the movie "The Insult" from 2017. It is in Arabic with English subtitles. It was from Lebanon and was nominated for an Oscar for 2018 for Best Foreign Language Film. It is about a Lebanese Christian man and a Palestinian refugee battling each other over a remark by one to the other and a physical assault in response. As the movie progresses the wife of the Lebanese man has an argument with her husband about him continuing to press the fight in court. She wants him to stop and tells him he is doing this not for his family but for himself. She has a very pertinent comment when she says to him "You'll burn everything but not turn the page."

This is where we are. All the terror groups, the governments of the countries supporting the various side, the weapons merchants supplying the tools for the carnage are aptly described by the words from that movie. The list of tit-for-tat atrocities has a long past in the Middle East region and it appears the list will continue to grow because the only ones in control who can do so will not turn the page.

and their only response to violence is more violence, then we are on a never ending spiral into Hell.

Peace has no chance. Not until the last bullet has been fired, and supporters of both sides refuse to supply more.

and I did the OP so that the "some" I referenced would see that the diversity in the territories may be small but it is there as well in much larger measure in the West Bank and in Israel. I see too many posts where people are more or less boiling the nature of the region down to just Jews and Arab Muslims. I think it's important to note that diversity and give it a voice in all of this as well.
