Related: About this forumJordanian Prince Condemned for Participating in Fundraiser for Jewish Group
Jordanian Prince Hassan bin Talal came under fire from his fellow countrymen this week, after Jordanian media outlets reported that he had attended a fundraiser for The Board of Deputies of British Jews (BDBJ). According to The Jerusalem Post, pictures showed the prince standing beside BDBJ president Vivian Wineman and the groups treasurer Laurence Brass.
The Post reports that anti-Israel protestors have asked the royal family to distance itself from Prince Hassans decision to attend the fundraiser, saying, We condemn Prince Hassans participation as it represents free service to the Zionist enemy and harms national causes as well as the prince himself and the royal family.
Hassans support of the board is surprising, given recent tensions between Jordan and Israel. Indeed, tensions between the two countries are so great, that yesterday The Jewish Telegraph Agency reported that Jordan warned Israelis not to wear Jewish symbols or perform any Jewish rituals while visiting Jordan.

(9,688 posts)...who should be deposed ASAP by a democratic movement.
The notion that some special bloodline is "blue" and designated by God or some universal law to rule over a people is totally medieval. I find middle eastern kings, queens, princes and princesses are particularly odious - and very few of them are actually supported by the majority of the people over whom they rule.
About this case, I wiki'ed the BDBJ and found it wasn't uncontroversial. I was led to wiki

to find that there is in fact more than one voice, and that the issue can't be reduced entirely to one of bigot/not-bigot, good/evil, and that there might well be good reason why this Jordanian "prince" might be criticized for supporting (with $$$) this particular group, considering that as "prince" he claims to represent the Jordanian people.

(14,851 posts)They should allow 1 man 1 vote in Jordan and probably have a Palestinian Majority Prime Minister.
It was a benefit for a Jewish Group not an Israeli group, and even if it was the 2 countries have a peace treaty ie :The Jordanian People.
Do you think The jordanian people would not want to support a Jewish Group?

(9,688 posts)in particular that anti-Zionist = anti-Semite, the purpose being to smear your political opponents with the slanderous allegation. Much easier that, than to offer a reasoned argument in favor of your opinion based in universal moral/ethical principle. So it's no wonder that you'd segue from "a Jordanian Prince" to "The Jordanian People", and from "BDBJ" to "a Jewish Group" - even though the point of my posting was to make these specific differences.

(14,851 posts)The belief that the Jews as a nation or people should not have a homeland is not anti Semitic ? ( Naturei Karta nuts who believe a Jewish homeland comes only after the messiah - excepted )
I don't believe that Zionism let alone antiZionism is up for debate .. That is correct .

The Board of Deputies of British Jews is the main representative body of British Jews.
Founded in 1760 as a joint committee of the Sephardi (Spanish and Portuguese) and Ashkenazi (Central and Eastern European) Jewish communities in London, it has since become a widely recognised forum for the views of the different sectors of the UK Jewish community.

(45,850 posts)The Board became involved in the Oliver Finegold affair when the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone made comments to a Jewish reporter, Oliver Finegold, comparing him or the newspaper he worked for, to a concentration camp guard. Many individuals and media commentators objected to the remark. Along with the Commission for Racial Equality, the Board filed a complaint to the Standards Board for England, calling for the Mayor to apologize to the reporter. The Mayor made a statement condemning the Holocaust, but stood by his remarks to the journalist, mentioning in passing his belief that the Board of Jewish Deputies only represents a small section of the Jewish community.[5]
On 5 February 2007, a group of prominent British Jews, such as Nobel laureate Harold Pinter and lawyer Sir Geoffrey Bindman, launched an organization called Independent Jewish Voices to counterbalance what they perceive as uncritical support of Israel by major Jewish institutions in the UK, criticizing particularly the Board of Deputies of British Jews.[6]

(58,724 posts)The poster linked to the other group deliberately to make a point.
In fact, it seems to be the same point you are making with your Wikipedia excerpt.
