UN cancels Gaza marathon over Hamas ban on women

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — The United Nations on Tuesday canceled a planned marathon in Gaza after the Palestinian territory’s Hamas rulers banned women from participating, in a new attempt by the Islamic militant group to impose its ideology inside the crowded coastal strip.

The dispute threatened to further strain the already delicate relationship between Hamas and the United Nations. Gaza sportswomen met the news with resignation, saying their conservative society had made it difficult to train even before the ban.....

... it's difficult for the UN to strike a balance between demonizing the only liberal democracy in the region and trying to apologize for the misogynistic, homophobic, theocracies.

I don't envy them ... it's a tough job.

But it's typical.

Considering what the UN is, the most honest thing for the UN to do, of course, would be to double down on holding the marathon and to build segregated male/female seating arrangements at the finish line. And to be honest the UN should set it up so the spectators have to go through a wall-of-sound exhibition of anti-Israel propaganda, with posters all around explaining how Israel is ultimately evil and Islamic extremism is not just good, but should be mandatory for the whole planet. Because, as we all know, for the UN that is considered "truth". But they're all lying bastards!

Lying bastards who pretend to be somehow "honorable" and to "uphold universal human rights", even though they aren't honorable and they're anti-Semitic, every last one of them. The bastards.

(helped by their surrogates who turn a blind eye) and had no choice but to cancel this because the lovely hamas are nothing but theocratic thugs.
