Speaking in Washington, Ahmet Davutoglu says that while Turkey does not want any nuclear power in the region, a military attack on Iran should not be an option.
By Natasha Mozgovaya
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Friday that an Israeli strike on Iran would be disastrous and should not be an option.
"We don't want any nuclear power - not in the region, and not in the world," he said while speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington. "But a military strike would be a disaster. It should not be an option," he said.
Davutoglu stressed that Turkey does not want to see another conflict "at this turning point for the region."
"It's not reasonable or feasible. We will never endorse another military tension in the region," he said."

Nearly half of American voters think the United States should use military force to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, according to a poll conducted for The Hill newspaper, which covers events relating to the Congress.
According to the poll, 49% of respondents said military force should be used, while 31% said it should not and 20% were not sure.
In addition, 62% of respondents said they were somewhat or very concerned about Iran launching a terror attack against the United States, while 37% said they were not very concerned or not at all concerned.

(26,219 posts)Those links CAME from your thread in GD. ProSense called out the HuffPo's exposition of who these people are (really - $1,500 for any push poll you want done?) and BtA called out the actual poll results.
I was just being helpful in adding them to the conversation here as well.

(45,850 posts)might not be best but as you told me keep trying and if you me I'll explain what I mean something you have apparently danced around while making accusation the whole time .......interesting lets keep going

(26,219 posts)I am discrediting your SOURCE.
Now, do you have a different poll on what the American people think about an attack against Iran? I would be genuinely interested in knowing how that topic is polling, but not from the source provided.
azurnoir
(45,850 posts)the rest seems an attempt to backpedal
azurnoir
(45,850 posts)well we do have different definitions of helpful I guess because to me it seems trying to delegitimize what is an obvious proIran war propaganda from an Israeli source with a bit of personal animosity tossed in for good measure

(45,850 posts)what would be purpose of making it appear the that Americans are in favor of bombing Iran?
and BTW this 'question "And where did I ever suggest you were right wing?"
I already pointed out comments 6 and 14 say much

(26,219 posts)You know people on the left watch Fox for a living, right? Media Matters for one. Staying on top of them does not make someone right wing, so kindly stop slinging the accusation at me. If I meant to suggest you were RW, I am capable of saying it. I don't and I didn't.
On the "why"? You know why they did, and you posted it without comment. No "can you believe this" or "listen to these war drums", just the findings of that push poll (results noted and linked below). Just the blurb and the link for consumption, which 2 members dug into and discredited at its source. Now that the source is known, and the actual wording of the poll has been fereted out, all of a sudden you want to turn this conversation into me?
How about we discuss the poll without the additional accusations, or better yet - as mentioned above - find another poll that is a little less biased to tell us what the American people are thinking about Iran these days. Like I said, I would be intrigued to know that.

This poll would be one of those times, IMO.

(45,850 posts)I have actually never "viewed" Fox for more 2 minutes because they're sickening but I'll take your word that we view it quite differently
Ruby the Liberal
(26,219 posts)Some people like Fox because they present an argument that bolsters what they are already thinking (or in a direction they are already leaning). I would put Israeli media right in the middle of that camp - a lot of the time.
That doesn't mean that they (or anyone else) is by default of sine kind "right wing", only that they are using the argument presented that makes their case.

Barak: Israel 'very far off' from decision on Iran attack
Israel believes Iran itself has not yet decided whether to make a nuclear bomb, according to intelligence assesment to be presented later this week to U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Dempsey.
By Amos Harel and Reuters
Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Wednesday that Israel was "very far off" from a decision about an attack on Iran over its nuclear program.
Barak was speaking on Israel's Army Radio ahead of a planned visit this week by U.S. armed forces chief General Martin Dempsey that has triggered speculation Washington would press Israel to delay any action against Tehran's nuclear program.
