Online posters sending messages of love and peace draw widespread attention and support; Iranian citizens send messages of thanks and praise.<snip>
"An online call for peace initiated by an Israeli couple has managed to achieve the support of 1,000 Israelis and Iranians. And it all began with two posters.
Ronny Edry and his wife Michal Tamir, together with "Pushpin Mehina", a small preparatory school for graphic design students, uploaded posters to Facebook depicting images of themselves with their children alongside the words, "Iranians, we will never bomb your country, we [heart] you."
Attached to each poster was the caption, "To the Iranian people, To all the fathers, mothers, children, brothers and sisters, For there to be a war between us, first we must be afraid of each other, we must hate. I'm not afraid of you, I don't hate you. I don t even know you. No Iranian ever did me no harm."
"I'm not an official representative of my country. I m [sic] a father and a teacher", wrote Edry, adding that he wishes to send a message on behalf of his neighbors, family, students and friends. "[W]e love you. We mean you no harm", he wrote. "On the contrary, we want to meet, have some coffee and talk about sports."

"My idea was simple, I was trying to reach the other side. There are all these talks about war, Iran is coming to bomb us and we bomb them back, we are sitting and waiting. I wanted to say the simple words that this war is crazy," said Edry.
Using his graphic design skills and his wife's help (she is also a graphic designer), he plastered memes over pictures of himself, his wife, his friends and his neighbors. He then posted them on the Facebook page of Pushpin Mehina, his small design school, with a resounding message:
IRANIANS
we will never bomb your country
We *Heart* You.
The response, said Edry, was overwhelming. "In a few hours, I had hundreds of shares and thousands of likes and it was like something was happening.
"I think it's really amazing that someone from Iran poked me and said 'Hello, I'm from Iran, I saw your "poster" on Facebook,' " Edry said.

"Some 1,000 protesters marched in Tel Aviv on Saturday night in a show of opposition to the possibility of an Israeli strike in Iran.
Over 2,300 citizens confirmed their attendance on Facebook. The march, titled "Israelis against a war with Iran," began at Habima Square and was expected to conclude with a rally at Meir Park.
"Together, we will inform Netanyahu and the world that there is no mandate to drive us into war with Iran," a spokesperson for the protest movement said prior to the event.
Some protesters wielded posters bearing the slogan "When the government is against the people, the people are against the government," and called on the country's leaders to resign."

"I missed the small demonstration around 1,000 people against the strike on Iran yesterday, but one thing that caught my eye this morning were a couple of pictures of signs denouncing AIPAC that friends shared on Facebook. It seems that more Israelis are becoming aware that AIPAC is not simply a pro-Israel lobby, but a rightwing group that defends the settlement policy and is currently pushing for war with Iran."

(45,850 posts)In recent weeks weve witnessed a virtual love offensive Involving Israelis and Iranians. We all took pleasure in the expressions of love directed at us, while trying to convince ourselves we have no real enemy in Iran. We sank into sweet dreams and started planning our trips to Iran, while waiting for Iranians to arrive in Israel so they can be amazed by Zionisms achievements and our willingness to seek peace and fraternity.
<snip>
As opposed to what were trying to convince ourselves of, the vast majority of Iranians still supports the Ayatollah regime, believes its statements and views us as the source of evil in the world. Indeed, at this time Iran is the globes greatest center of anti-Semitism, with propaganda materials against Israel and Judaism regularly
disseminated there.
<snip>
We should not forget that Irans nuclear program enjoyed its greatest momentum during the tenure of the previous president, Khatami, who was considered a moderate and great reformer in Iranian standards, yet was no different than Ahmadinejad in his hatred to Jews and made his feelings known frequently.
The answer to the above questions is no, of course. Nuclear arms in the hands of Irans mad, radical regime, which wants to exterminate us as a matter of ideology, are a grave danger and should be prevented at any price. I am willing to strike in Iran, as long as no harm comes to my young daughter, and I have no pangs of conscience over this. Im following the basic instinct of every living thing.

"Nearly three weeks after two Tel Aviv graphic designers launched an online anti-war with Iran campaign that caught the attention of the worldwide media, they have managed to raise over $27,000 to take the campaign to what they say is the next level.
A few days after the campaign went viral, Ronny Edri, 41, and his partner Michal Tamir, 35, opened an account on the crowd-sourcing website Indiegogo, where they asked for help reaching a goal of $7,500 by May 4 in order to produce more posters and keep the movement (growing).
By Thursday, the campaign had raised $27,151 from 640 donors, including a donation of $5,000 from Madonnas manager Guy Oseary, according to Indiegogo.
According to a sales representative at a Tel Aviv-based printing house, NIS 1,600 will buy 1,000 posters (100 cm. by 70 cm.), meaning that so far the campaign has raised funds to outfit approximately 63,000 supporters."

"A new Facebook initiative is pushing for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for the Israeli couple behind the Israel Loves Iran campaign. An online petition called on web surfers to support Ronny Edry and Michal Tamir as Nobel nominees.
"If Ronny Edry and Michal Tamir would be honored with the Nobel Peace Prize this would be a significant affirmation for all those who seek peace. It would be an historic example," the petition read.
Hundreds of Facebook users have already recommended the page to their friends.
"Internet gives new chances for democracy and also for the international peace movement and this prize could encourage people to join us and become activists as well," Roya Mobasheri, the woman behind the petition, wrote. Mobasheri is most likely an Iranian expat living in Europe.
"While governments are spreading hate and mistrust, and talking about war, people from Israel and Iran came together, connected and united for peace. The activists have a clear message to their governments: 'We love each other, we don't want war.'"
