Right-wing demonstrators in Tel Aviv wore neo-Nazi shirts (Haaretz)

Several dozen right-wingers interrupted a leftist demonstration against the Israeli operation in Gaza, beating and threatening several demonstrators on Saturday evening in central Tel Aviv.

One man was rushed to Ichilov Hospital after he was beaten by the rightists. According to the police, no arrests were made.

The leftist demonstration started around 8 P.M., with several hundred demonstration and about 20 police officers in attendance. Opposite the demonstration, several dozen rightist activists also gathered.

Shortly after 9 P.M., rocket alerts were sounded in Tel Aviv, and the police officers and demonstrators ran for shelter, while the rightists chased and threatened them, eyewitnesses said.

According to Rotem Bin Nun, 38, who participated in the demonstration, the rightists attacked the demonstrators with clubs while the police officers were taking shelter at the nearby Habima Theater.

"A friend of mine tried to defend one of the other demonstrators and was beaten himself," Bin Nun said. "He lost consciousness for a few seconds, passers-by called an ambulance and we went to Ichilov."

"It was fearful. I've never experiences such violence in Tel Aviv in a leftist demonstration," he added.

Police officers at the scene told Haaretz no one was arrested, that no wounded were reported and that the situation is "under control." According to eyewitnesses and demonstrators, police did not do enough to stop the violence, and arrested no right-wingers who threatened leftists.

Israeli rapper Yoav Eliasi, known by the stage-name "The Shade," was spotted among the right-wingers and later thanked his fellow activists for showing up, noting members of the Beitar Jerusalem F.C. fanclub, among others. "Together we're a force against the real enemy among us, the radical left, and thanks to my guys who are apparently called the lions, and thanks to the IDF, all this is for you!" he wrote on his Facebook page.

That's why the ideas persist today, sabbat hunter. because it's easy gratification. All you have to do is be the right race, or the right creed, or the right nationality, and suddenly, bam, you're on top of the world. Your people are hte best people.

But.

But all those other people want to bring you down! All those other people, they want to debase your race. They want to eradicate your creed. They want to cast your nation into the sea! And backing them up are the people on the left, with their "multiculturalism" and their "welfare' and their "peace processes." They're all agents of THEM[. Those other people who want to throw you down from greatness! The Jews, the Arabs, the blacks, the gays, the feminists, the Mexicans, whoever they are.

Fascism tells you that you are mighty with one hand, and it tells you that you are a victim with the other.

But maybe that's just my own background. I came to leftism through the back alley door, one might say, instead of through the swanky coffee-serving free wifi public entrance.

thank god for 972 ....I dont need to translate :

'Ebola' voted by Israeli readers as 'best birthday present' for Obama

Readers of the prominent Israeli news site Mako have overwhelmingly voted in favor of sending President Barack Obama an envelope containing the Ebola virus for his birthday.

The site, which belongs to the Channel 2 company “Keshet” (the most widely watch broadcasting network in Israel) began the survey at noon on Sunday, asking readers what they would like to give the president for his 53rd birthday. The options were as follows (scores in brackets, screenshot below):

A) Peace in the Middle East (22%)

B) Golf clubs (11%)

C) A box set of Israeli television series Prisoners of War (9%)

D) A remix by Noi Alush (local video artist) of Netanyahu’s now-famous “Don’t ever second guess me again” line (10%)

E) An envelope with the Ebola virus (48%)

The results did not cause Mako to reconsider the list of options, nor remove the survey altogether. At the time of writing (Monday night, 11 p.m.) it is still up.

The Israeli watchdog site Walla-Branja wrote on Monday that only a month ago did Mako declare it would enact a new policy of filtering hate speech in its comments section, specifically targeting calls for incitement to violence or death following the murder of Muhammad Abu Khdeir.

I wonder what would happen if we did a poll here asking what Netanyahu's birthday present should be?
