Greek Orthodox Church decries attacks by Jewish settlers

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/17216-greek-orthodox-church-decries-attacks-by-jewish-settlers

The Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and all Palestine, Theophilos III, denounced on Thursday what he called "repeated" attacks on Christian and Muslim places of worship in the Palestinian territories by extremist Jewish settlers.

"The targeting of churches and mosques is caused by pervasive racism and hatred," he said in a statement.

Earlier Thursday, Jewish Settlers set fire to part of a religious school affiliated with Jerusalem's Greek Orthodox Church, Which they sprayed with anti-Christian graffiti. On Wednesday, settlers torched and sprayed graffiti on a West Bank mosque.

Theophilos III said Christians represented an "integral part" of the Holy Land, its history and its future, going on to assert that the Greek Orthodox Church was one of the world's most important churches.

I'm an atheist and burning churches or mosques or temples is bizzarre to me. Many are great examples of architecture and history and art. Many artisans and builders put alot if time into the work. Burning placed of worship down is fueled by hate.

to declare Israel an explicitly Jewish state. No Christians or Muslims need apply in Netanyahu's Israel.

Remember that after Palestinian land was taken to form the State of Israel, the Israeli terror gangs Irgun and Stern also attacked Christians residing in Palestine as well as Muslims.

meanwhile Christians are being pushed out of the west bank:

The Muslim Fatah-controlled authority in Judea and Samaria is encouraging a "sharp demographic shift" in Bethlehem, where the Christian population went from a 60 percent majority in 1990 to a 40 percent minority in 2000, to about 15 percent of the city's total population today.

It is estimated that, for the past seven years, more than one thousand Christians have been emigrating from the Bethlehem area annually and that only 10,000 to 13,000 Christians remain in the city. International human rights lawyer Justus Reid Weiner, who teaches at Hebrew University, told the Jerusalem Institute for Global Jewish Affairs that, under the PA-Fatah regime, Christian Arabs have been victims of frequent human rights abuses by Muslims.

"There are many examples of intimidation, beatings, land theft, firebombing of churches and other Christian institutions, denial of employment, economic boycotts, torture, kidnapping, forced marriage, sexual harassment, and extortion," he said. PA officials are directly responsible for many of the attacks, and some Muslims who have converted to Christianity have been murdered.

is because AIPAC has not decided about the correct response to this latest example of Israeli bad faith undermining any peace process. How does one spin this latest instance in a nearly 70 year record of Israeli aggression directed against the Palestinian and Christian residents of a state that many Israelis want to ethnically cleanse?

waiting for the next outrage so they can whine about some imagined victimization.

I guess that their brand of terrorists can't be brought up for what they are.
