Egypt lists Hamas as a terrorist organization

Story here

From the article:

An Egyptian court has ruled that Hamas is a terrorist organization, according to an Egyptian state-run media organization.

Hamas, the Islamist group which dominates the Gaza strip, has been at odds with the Egyptian government since the country's former President, Mohammed Morsy, was ousted in a coup in the summer of 2013.

A mass murderer is getting "srs" about terrorism. Always interesting to see. I wonder how many more egyptians will end up chopped up in the street by the army over this

Calling them terrorists is not as extreme as running a full blown invasion of the Gaza.

Does the US also need a new form of government, perhaps one that is not based on imperialism and genocide? Come to think of it that describes Israel also.

5. No, but Hamas a terrorist organization , recognized as such

By every civilized entity and now Egypt too .... That has had 1 election in Gaza once and never again is in desperate need of terminating their governance... Immediately.

Comparing Hamas Government to the USA or Israel is patently absurd.

6. "recognized as such" is a good phrase to use

because Israel is recognized as a chronic (since 1948) violator of International Law and is not sanctioned by the UN because the US will not allow any action.

Hamas is the elected government. But neither the US nor Israel has any respect for governments when any governments take actions that the US and/or Israel oppose. (See Chile, Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, ad infinitum for the US) (See Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon for Israel)

In what world ? Maybe if you live in Zimbabwe you may think so .

One man one vote one time is actually a dictatorship in the real world , my world.

The homophobic bigoted gay hating terrorist bigoted org of Hamas is the antithesis of democracy.

2006 - last "election" by those homophobes.

the US and Israel both behave similarly. But neither the US nor Israel are the ones who decide how another country votes. Perhaps your definition of democratic elections is only those elections that conform to your vision of how the world should be?

ok - so how many years without an election is acceptable before you get concerned.

by the GOP when Bush was selected to be President. Reagan was treating with the Iranians prior to the 1980 election. He was never charged with treason. Nixon was treating with the North Vietnamese prior to the 1972 election. No charges of treason then either. Elections are funny things, but elections in Palestine are a Palestinian concern.

When was the last free election in China or Saudi Arabia?

is your message that the US is the supreme decider when it comes to what are the acceptable forms of government for every country in the world? And that only the US can bestow legitimacy on governments?

Israel is a democracy the way the US is a democracy. Democratic form without function, a sham democracy where the rich militarists decide what happens and the workers suffer.

13. Democracy implies the ability to chose and replace governments

without that basic right, it can't be democracy. It has nothing to do with the US or Israel. It is just common sense.

Now how about you answer some simple questions about what you consider democracy without any deflection. How many years can a so called democracy go without an election? Especially when their laws call for elections every four years?

14. I am not evading your question as much as
Mon Mar 2, 2015, 03:23 PM

pointing out that the question, and the requirement that other countries live up to their laws, is applied very selectively by the US.

The US follows the law when it is convenient, ignores law when it is not convenient. That applies to foreign and domestic affairs. Always has.

But no, I am not defending Hamas in tactics or electoral process, merely pointing out that neither the US nor Israel is an honest judge of tactics or morality. The US and Israel will condemn Hamas for using the identical tactics that Israel uses against innocent Palestinians.

The old proverb about glass houses comes to mind.

So I'll answer for you... One election once is not a democracy its a dictatorship.

Even Zimbabwe has sham elections.

Hamas is way past its due date, was time to go many years ago.

Is a dictatorship.

Democracy is not one election one time and govern for life , that's Robert Mugabe.

Yes give me the USA form of government any day . That's democracy ...

Gaza is run by homophobic terrorist bigots
who were elected a long time ago and is now a dictatorship and need be gone --- yesterday.

They sort of won a legislative election but not for prime minister.

They threw their rivals off of rooftops, is the the kind of democracy you favor?
