Israel/Palestine
Related: About this forumMuslims murder Palestinians
While the Israeli Defense Force were storming into Gaza the streets of Europe were overrun with demonstrators. There were virtual riots outside of the Israeli embassy in London, tens of thousands of people marched there in support of Palestinians as they did in Paris, Madrid and elsewhere. With every march came cries that the IDF were perpetrating a massacre in Gaza. The pictures of dead Palestinian children filled Facebook feeds.
There was no massacre of Palestinians at the hands of the IDF last Summer. But in Syria there is. Right now as you read this. But you would be forgiven for being unaware of it. For this time there arent tens of thousands demonstrating on the streets. There are no demonstrations at all. There are no rallies. There are no screams of massacre. There are no demands on governments to take action.
There is simply a sad, deafening silence.
Its not as if people dont know whats happening in the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Syria, Yarmouk. The story took pride of place on Sky News, it has been published by every major newspaper around the world. Yet there is no action. The heat, the friction, the activism of the Summer is nowhere to be found.

(30,109 posts)....is unmoved by the murder of Palestinians when Jews cannot be blamed for it. With friends like the BDS degenerates from Mondoweiss, Electronic Intifada, FreeGaza, and the Palestinian Solidarity Committee, the Palestinians don't need enemies.

(14,851 posts)Where's the outrage , where's the world condemnation , where's the world empathy , flotilla, even support?
It's missing in action and not because of Israel but because there's no Jews involved.

(58,724 posts)This is the new "associate Israel with everything evil" approach.
Apparently now the thing to do is claim Israel supports the IS.

(45,850 posts)there is no silence on Yarmouk which as most literate people know is latest chapter in horrible tragedy that has been on going in Syria, Yarmouk was only made "sexy" for the M$M only recently and only because of the involvement of IS

Uncomfortable facts?
No outrage here nothing to see move along before this inconvenience takes some spotlight off the Jewish state?

(45,850 posts)yet we see it being jumped on as an excuse to demonize those who would see Palestinians have their own state and there for be freed from victimhood this is a part of, while at the same time the Israeli government uses the perpetrators of this latest assault on humanity in Yarmouk that being IS, as an excuse to keep the victims right where they are

(30,109 posts)....couldn't care less about Palestinians. It's not demonizing if it's 100% absolute truth. It's legit criticism.
Israel bashers don't care about...
1. Women under Hamas rule and PLO rule.
2. Children abused under Hamas rule (like the 170 who died digging tunnels under Gaza).
3. Minorities under both Hamas and PLO rule.
4. Gays under both Hamas and PLO rule.
4. Refugees living under miserable, apartheid rule outside of Israel.
5. Hamas' use of human shields in densely populated areas to attack Israel
6. Hamas' use of child militants
7. Hamas firing rockets that land within Gaza, killing Palestinians
8. Hamas murdering political foes
9. Hamas and the PLO brainwashing little kids through state-controlled media to become murderers and martyrs.
10. Hamas using cement & material for tunnels rather than building homes, schools, etc.

(45,850 posts)calls a number of your claims into question, being Gay was legal in Jordan and the West Bank more than 30 years before it was in Israel, no Israeli have ever been killed by friendly fire.... oh wait
Israel has never murdered it's political foes and in Israel's case the wives and children are usually killed too
do you really want me to go on with this?
and do you understand international law where refugees are concerned or re you still complaining because Arab countries won't solve Israel's problem with Palestinian refugees?
shira
(30,109 posts)....don't really give a shit about Palestinians.
They're Israel haters, not pro-Palestinian.

(30,109 posts)...who claim to be pro-Palestinian are nothing of the sort.
You posted absolutely nothing that refutes that. Nothing that shows pro-Palestinian Israel bashers care about Palestinians when Israel is not involved. The simple fact is that when Israel cannot be blamed, Israel haters are silent and cannot be bothered by oppressed, abused, or murdered Palestinians. Not just WRT Yarmouk, but at least 10 other examples.
I forgot about this...
There is no international law stating that children and grandchildren of refugees inherit refugee status.
There isn't even an international law demanding Israel takes in all original Palestinian refugees.
So obviously you don't understand international law.

(45,850 posts)a certain agenda I'm neither moved nor impressed
and another question
you could post this stuff in GD as Yarmouk is big news but don't why is that?
and oh there is no international law stating that those born to refugees are not themselves refugees either
shira
(30,109 posts)I don't know about 21 year old "children", which is ridiculous. But are you denying Hamas uses actual children as militants or just deflecting from the fact?
A logical fallacy is all you have now?
Hilarious.
shira
(30,109 posts)An internationally recognized RoR rooted in International Law (involving millions of descendants who supposedly inherit refugee status) is non-existent. An imaginary fairy tale that will never happen.
And yet every BDS'er I've ever run into believes it's best for refugees to rot in camps under horrible conditions rather than get on with life and live normally.
It's not that BDS'ers hate Israel or Jews. It's worse....
They hate Palestinians more than some (probably most) of the worst bigots who hate Arabs. I'm not convinced there are many Kahanist-style ghouls who wish this kind of harm on millions of people. Reminds me of "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy...".
Yet another reason BDS is among the most rotten, vile movements on the planet today.
