Their dowsing methods were more accurate than their complex locate tools. I was skeptical until I saw it myself.

When the guy handed me the bent welding rods, I watched as they bent toward the spot where my PVC irrigation line (no locate wire) was running underground.

BOTH workers used dowsing to find or confirm the pipe location.

I worked for a while installing sewer and water lines and was shown how to find the water lines by using 2 pieces of baling wire in an L shape hanging loosely in my hands and hey would cross as I walked across the water line, worked every time

Using a "dowsing" rod which was actually a Y shaped branch like you would use for a sling shot but have no idea if it actually worked.. The wire/welding rods work for water pipes I know but not so sure about just finding a place to drill for a well.

so that you can hold the rods with your thumbs up holding the rods. Keep the rods parallel while walking and when they cross you have found the ditch.

to find ungrouund lines - water, power, sewer, phone. PVC or metal!

I live in the town that is home to "The American Society of Dowsers" The events used to be quite large years ago, not so much now. Paul Sevigny dowsed the spring on my property in the 90's, and it was pure magic watching him... he was able to tell us exactly how much the flow would be and how far to dig down... never once had an issue with our dug spring!
