Mark Lane, attorney and author of Rush to Judgment, and Joan Mellen, professor at Temple University, talked about conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.?Mr.?Lane talked discussed the theory that the Secret Service was complicit in the assassination of the president, and Ms.?Mellen spoke about the prosecution of Clay Shaw by New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison.?Mr.?Shaw was a New Orleans businessman and the only person ever prosecuted in connection with the assassination.?

They spoke at “Passing the Torch,” an international symposium on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.?The event was sponsored by the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law at Duquesne University.
