I am no longer a fan of the boxer Manny Pacquiao after he attacked marriage equality

http://loop21.com/life/manny-pacquiao-gay-marriage-condemnation

While he may not be a citizen of the United States, Manny Pacquiao does work there from time to time. Which must be why he felt compelled to give his two cents on President Obama and his recent endorsement of gay marriage.

In an interview with the National Conservative Examiner, Pac Man voiced that everything about gay marriage is wrong.

"God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other," he said. "It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of old."

Pacquiao was recently recognized as the fourth most influential athlete in the world by Forbes Magazine. So remarks like this aren't going to be taken lightly.

Very disappointing and would imagine hurtful to the LGBT community. Pacquiao is also an elected member of the Philippine parliament so he is very much a politician.

Pacquiao is considered the biggest hero ever in the Phillipines. You can now imagine what that means for the LGBT Phillipino community. One of the gentlemen I play volleyball with is a gay Phillipino. He was a big fan of Pacquiao and I am sure he is now completely crushed. I am talking with his sister about it now.

Who has said he'd trade making this spectacular catch and winning the superbowl if he could defeat gay marriage.
