Related: About this forumI know at least some who like Grace Jones in here. ;) (Myself included, still have the vinyl.)
Here's her latest live performance. She's 64.

(135,425 posts)It was back when smoking was still allowed and she was smoking.
We were the only two in first class. If she had an entourage they were in the back. I have no idea how I ended up there--I think I was on orders and they had no business class, or something. She was pleasant--I didn't bug her but we had a brief chat.
She is quite a formidable woman! Very tall, very stylish, with the best posture I have ever seen!

(38,187 posts)I still believe that without her and few others, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and all, would not have been possible like they are.

She looked as good across the aisle of a plane, wearing a rather relaxed but high-style tan outfit with a hood/burnoose-y type top and trousers, as she did in videos. Often, people in person don't quite live up to their airbrushed and fuzzily-photographed personas, but she looked grand.

(49,999 posts)I may not be LGBT, but I loves me some Grace!
I remember the first time I played some of this LP for some small town friends. One of them asked, "so, what do you call this?"
Thanks for the video. That gives me a little more energy to get through the day.

(18,541 posts)She was such a bitch to Trevor Horne, then so cool to everyone else at his concert... the other victims of Trevor Horne. BF's got the DVD and paid an extra $100 for an all region DVD/BluRay player.
I love her, I hate her. I would never give her a baby. But she's soooo fucking cool!
64? Screw 'em, she was the first super-model, and the first one who went out and did movies. I hope she held on to every single penny, invested it and made a fortune.

(49,999 posts)What happened with Trevor Horne?

(18,541 posts)One even claimed Trevor had made a million dollar bet about his single going number one, and he still wanted to be paid. I guess Trevor made all the money. After watching that, I was thinking the definition of producer is "one who uses other people's talent to become rich."
It turned out to be more of a roast than a tribute, but the roasting was done in malice, rather than fun - unless I just don't get British humor (and I think I do).
If the whole concert isn't out on the intertubes, some of the singles should be.

(38 posts)...one of the most AMAZING directors/choreographers of the 80's! Many clips from his European commercials can be seen in Grace's "Slave to the Rhythm" music video. Those two worked GREAT together.
