lgbt

yesterday I was driving and turned a corner and saw two young guys holding hands, walking their dog. As soon as the noticed me, they moved apart. As as I got closer I saw real fear in their young eyes. They softened a little as they saw no threat from me. I was so angry that people have to live in fear because of the lifestyle they chose. I am saddened also that our judeo-christian ethic has created such fear and hate. I'll state the obvious, a right wing november victory will make it worse for all not of their camp.

If only you hadn't written that part...

First, they don't live in fear for anything the do or anything they are.

They live in fear because of the hatred and bigotry of others.

Second, it's not a lifestyle and they didn't choose it.

still angry at the fear I saw. And yes, being of an older generation I may have gotten my political correctness wrong, but my heart is still at peace with my sentiment about what I saw. No offense meant to anyone about how I worded my statement.

Specific words matter, not only to LGBT but to those who support them.

There's a very big difference between "lifestyle choice" and, well, just being what you are.

Is heterosexuality a "lifestyle choice"?

and thanks for your service. You guys who served in the Vietnam Era were the big brothers and big sisters to those of us who served immediately after. You passed all your knowledge and lore down to us. This is a thread where we can return the favor. It's pretty nice to see it equally well-received. We hope you'll continue to be an ally. We could use all the buddies we can get.

I've had a peace sign on my car every since returning from Vietnam. 69. I've been fighting for equal rights for all since 63. I explained myself on my posts. Thanks for the tip.

and seeing boys and girls holding hands, hugging, kissing and laughing - together. There was no fear. It was very refreshing, as opposed to the puritanical status quo we see in America.
