Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker Tank Carder has tried to back-track on his anti-gay tweets from the last week, issuing a two-faced non-apology of the highest order. After calling someone a “faggot” and saying he doesn’t “agree with being gay or lesbian at all,” he is suddenly trying to paint himself as an inclusive warrior of understanding.

After posting that he’s going to “stay unapologetically strong,” that “you people took that way too far #getalife,” and retweeting that people who were offended should “grow up people,” the Browns PR staff got hold of him and made him tweet this non-apology this afternoon:

What it should say is “I’m sorry I got caught.” You don’t say you’re against people being gay, and you don’t call people a faggot, and you don’t then say everyone is being too sensitive and that we should all just get a life…without meaning it. The guy meant what he said, he’s anti-gay, he has no problem with calling someone a faggot, and now that he’s feeling the heat he wants to take it all back.

Equally galling is this tweet, in which he says that claiming to be anti-gay and anti-lesbian is not attacking gays and lesbians…

Again, he’s not sorry: He’s just sorry that you’re overly sensitive.
