In a (mostly unsurprising) revelation, Randy Mickler, a senior minister at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, contends that if the Boy Scouts become more “gay-friendly” and allow gay Scoutmasters to be open and honest about their sexual orientation, the church “couldn’t support it.”

Citing two cases of molestation within the Scouts and the damage it does to children, he adds this gem: “I’m not saying that all homosexuals would do that, but at the same time, they were homosexuals.”

That’s a slam dunk for Team Uninformed Statements.

But he could be just that — uninformed.

What’s worse is when you know better and continue the charade.

So let me say this loud and clear: There is absolutely no empirical evidence that a gay male is more likely to sexually assault a child than a straight man is.

None unless you refer to a debunked “study” the Family Research Council performed in 2010, which said just the opposite. The findings concluded that there is overwhelming evidence of homosexuality posing a danger to children.

Problem is, in a sad attempt to look scholarly, the “researchers” at the conspicuously named American College of Pediatrics consist of a network of approximately 200 anti-gay doctors who have long tried (and long failed) to put pedophilia and homosexuality in the same box. (And we’re the pervs?!)
