in this life, the older I get, the more I understand it. I've known a few lesbian couples, well respected and deserving of it. I've known probably more homosexual men and usually, sadly less successful in their relationships. One former student is a long-time close friend of my daughter's and yet to find peace. It may be more due to personal and family problems than sexuality, but those problems would not exist for him if he were hetero
sexual. We still have such a long way to go. Male friends in my generation that I know know were gay, felt compelled to marry women and father children.
