700 rally for gay marriage at Lytle Park

Roughly 700 people descended on Lytle Park Downtown Tuesday night, in a prequel to demonstrations Wednesday as a federal appeals court hears arguments in a nearby courthouse over the constitutionality of bans on gay marriage in four states. The states includes Ohio and Kentucky.
"I know that our country is ready for a change," was Cincinnati City Councilman Chris Seelbach's message as he welcomed marriage equality proponents to the Why Marriage Matters rally.
The greeting by Seelbach, the city's first openly gay councilman, was followed by a blessing from Rev. David Meredith of Clifton United Methodist Church.
Pro-gay marriage supporters came into the park to listen to live music and prominent figures who oppose same-sex marriage bans. Police estimated the crowd at 700 or more, although organizers had hoped for 1,000 attendees....
