Scotland: those in civil partnerships can now marry

Story here

In Scotland, a law has taken effect that will enable people in civil partnerships to convert that relationship into a marriage. Effectively, it's the beginning of marriage equality in the country. Scotland has a 15-day waiting period for all marriages, however, meaning that people can do the paperwork today, but can't have weddings until New Year's Eve. Which should make for some really big parties!
