(TRIGGER WARNING, NO PHOTOS IN THREAD) Shocking Images Show Islamic State Throwing Gay Men to Death

The Islamic State (ISIS) has released shocking images showing the execution of two men for being gay. Some of the images are too disturbing to be reproduced on PinkNews, even with a warning.

The images begin with a photograph of a crowd gathered next to a large building in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

In a caption, the man was described as having been convicted by an Islamic court of the practices of the “people of Lot”, sodomy.

The images then show one man, in mid-air as he is falls from the building. In further images, far too disturbing to be published on PinkNews, the corpses of the men were photographed lying on the street in front of an angry crowd.

-----------------------------------------------------

I can't even describe the level of disgust I feel with some dark recesses of our humanity. I didn't include the photos here, because frankly, you're better off not seeing it, even the non-graphic photos. My only hope is that the poor men and women who were murdered could in any way realize that they were not alone in those final moments. It reminds me of a scene from V for Vendetta (the movie version, not sure if it's the same in the graphic novel), when Evey reads the prisoner, Valerie Page's, note. I will include the quotation here for thought.

"I shall die here. Every inch of me will perish. Every inch but one. An inch... It is small, and fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us. I hope that whoever you are, you escape this place. I hope that the worlds turns, and that things get better. But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you that, even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you."

I shuttered so much and had to pull off the road and change the station to some soothing music.

I think it's about the sickest part of religious belief to actually rationalize such gahstly killings.

I thought all religions were supposed to be about peace, love and understanding fellow human beings.

Of course, I am wrong thinking that about religions.

That isn't the point. The modern person can differentiate between moral right and moral wrong.

I've been to Walmart at two in the morning, and I'm not so sure.

But in all seriousness, I really don't think that the majority of "humans" actually make moralistic decisions. Instead, they submit to what they view as a higher power to make those decisions for them. Hence, "drugs are bad BECAUSE they're illegal", or something I see from family on social media all the time "If it wasn't wrong, it wouldn't be illegal". A higher authority said its bad, end of questioning.
