Wyoming Supreme Court to Hear Arguments on Same-Sex Marriage

By BEN NEARY, ASSOCIATED PRESS CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Aug 12, 2016, 6:45 PM ET

The Wyoming Supreme Court is set to hear arguments next week on whether a Pinedale judge who has said she wouldn't perform same-sex marriages because of her religious beliefs should be removed from office.

Ruth Neely in April filed a petition asking the court to reject a recommendation from the state Commission on Judicial Conduct and Ethics recommending that she lose her job as a municipal judge and circuit court magistrate.

Neely said in 2014 she would not perform same-sex marriages because of her religious beliefs.

Commission lawyers argue that Neely's position violates the code of judicial conduct. Commission Executive Director Wendy Soto declined comment Friday.

Attempts to reach Neely and her attorneys were not successful Friday. Her lawyers argue that removing her would violate her religious rights.

...NOT uphold the Bible.

No one is forcing Neely to enter into a same-sex marriage, that would be a violation of her religious beliefs.

However, refusing to officiate at a same-sex marriage is forcing her religious beliefs on others.

I AM SO SICK OF THIS PIOUS BIGOTED BULLSHIT.
