A Canadian trans cartoonist is being forced to go into hiding after her website was hacked and replaced by Nazi imagery.
Sophie LaBelle, who created the Assigned Male cartoon, was known for taking on transphobia and transmisogyny with her well known strip.
But then an orchestrated attack deleted every comic, she was sent thousands of death threats, and her address was published on several forums.
I just want people to be aware this is what you get for being trans on the internet and for reframing transness into something positive and empowering, the cartoonist wrote on Facebook.

I don't know if the Hacking of DU a couple of days ago was a part of it, but it is being done by some truly horrible people.

(26,045 posts)She's created a series of FB pages over the past few days and, within minutes, each has been overrun with Pepe memes and calls for her to kill herself -- none of which, according to FB, violates their terms of service.

(2,061 posts)A week ago she posted the moron's boast about how they were targeting her then said it was postponed. Facebook sent out a form letter and did nothing and a week later, they struck.
She had to move, too.
Her strip has been comforting during my transition but seeing this makes me see red.
