Different accounts have been reported of what Celebrity Summit passengers John Hart and Dennis Mayer were doing on their balcony when they were arrested by police on the island of Dominica. Its also been debated how visible the men were to witnesses on the docks.
An anonymous Queerty reader has sent us this image, allegedly depicting Mayer and Hart in flagrante. It looks pretty clear that, yup, they were humping like rabbits in clear view of bystanders.
Is what they did a capital offense? Did they deserve to be taunted and humiliated? Of course not.
But that was some pretty dumb behavior right there. Folks, if youre gonna have sex on your balcony while your ship is docked, for Gods sake make sure youre on the side facing the ocean!

(6,086 posts)I have family there and the VICIOUS homophobia is what I call "their dirty open secret" because it's something that everyone knows. It's not uniformly nasty throughout EACH AND EVERY country but as a rule, it's a damn shame but it's a widely held belief.

(6,086 posts)it was risky. However, we would have NEVER been visible the way this couple was. Frankly, if I were gay, I would be VERY careful in ALOT of the Caribbean because many of the islands are megahomophobic. Hypocritical mindsets and behaviours abound but I have to honest and say that many folks from the Islands are virulently homophobic.
It may have been embarrassing but it's not as if they killed or hurt anyone and I hope they're back home soon, if not already.
