More than four decades after a controversial federal decision to legalize first-trimester abortion nationwide, politicians are still locked in heated debates.

In New York, the fight has been a central theme in the upcoming election.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed the 10-point Women's Equality Act in June 2013, a series of reforms he said would ensure women's rights were solidified in business and society.

The Senate and Assembly agreed. On nine points. Lawmakers are at an impasse over the 10th point, which would codify federal Roev. Wade laws in New York.... MORE at link provided above.
