"The Women of The Future," according to 1902 French trading cards

In 1902, a French trading card manufacturer released this curious batch of playing cards depicting women and their futuristic careers as soldiers, lawyers, journalists, and cigarette-chomping students. But because these cards were designed to titillate, many of these outfits aren't entirely practical — note the firefighter and general's lack of sleeves above. In fact, much of the military regalia pictured wouldn't be handy whatsoever in the battlefield.

Honestly, it's only hair. We get to have hairless legs and armpits, and suddenly they're trying to make hairless men normal.

My husband refers to the 40 year old virgin movie when that topic comes up. "That was real, they really waxed him, and that was REAL PAIN."

In many things. Even a discussion about sex on some show. I was taken aback. I guess it's becoming a requirement soon enough for the next generation of men climbing out of high school and college. I guess men are next in the pubescent-ification of people. Started with women, now men.
