Fathers 4 Justice Protest Sexism, Gender Hatred using Sexism, Gender Hatred

Be-caped protest group Fathers 4 Justice (F4J) have launched an advertising campaign in the Independent’s iPaper against the parenting forum and biscuit enthusiasts Mumsnet. F4J accuse the website of fostering anti-male sentiment and ‘gender hatred’.

The pressure group are known for their publicity stunts, such as dressing up as superheroes and scaling Buckingham Palace, and commentators have pointed out that this campaign against a hugely successful website, as well as retailer Marks & Spencer, is likely more of the same.

However genuine the campaign itself is, the antipathy towards Mumsnet seems to be real. Numerous blogs and Facebook groups set up by Mens Rights Activists (MRAs) target the site. This type of internet flame war is hardly new, there are numerous sub-communities all over the web who hate each other and devote massive amounts of time to refuting each other’s theories, what’s strange is that this particular flame war is spilling over into the real world.

do you deny the amount of vicious language used against men in general, not just in this group but possibly what on that site?

That's my gut reaction from what i've seen here.

*shrugs* they may en up being another promise keepers - just a bunch of sexist, power-hungry good-ol boys.

but I think it's unfair, and non-conducive to a progressive conversation to simply write them off as silly.

but what do I know, i'm just a man.

That we don't do it because it should not be done to anybody, male or female? Or that males have special privilege and any sexist posts are hidden differently than for women? Are you saying sexism is allowed against the women but not the men?

I want to understand you pov about the site. Please don't misunderstand my curiosity, I hope I don't appear challenging or disrespectful while seeking clarification.

I've always judged people based on their character. You can't broad brush it and say that all men are blah blah blah. Forcing men out for women to take their place with a matriarchy is just as bad as a patriarchy and doesn't even come close to being equal. I think people forget what equality means...

Thanks. Sometimes I read stuff in where there is none.

I don't think it should be done to either sex.
