My husband tested positive for blood

What a week I have had! Hospital, hospital everywhere!

My husband's test results came back positive for blood. He's had four siblings very recently die from various forms of cancer.

So, he bit the bullet and did what they told him to do and gee, just like that commercial on the t.v., they were able to snip a few polyps off of his insides and they biopsied them and he came out clear with NO CANCER.

I'm not a test taker nor a test pusher but my god, I believe my husband who will soon be 80 years old could live quite a long time yet and I'm glad he took responsibility for his health and did what needed to be done as unpleasant as it may have been.

I found out today that his sister that recently died of cancer was due cancer of the colon (never knew the reason for her death other than that ugly word cancer), and even more important of a reason to follow-up and not ignore such unpleasant problems when they emerge which is what she opted to do only to pass away a very short time later! YIKES.

I suppose my message is, do not ignore problems that you know are problems. Your life is at stake!

Thank god we have insurance that covered the procedures! He's feeling good today and seems quite happy as well!

Gotcha CANCER you beast of a disease! Gotcha this time around before you got someone around here!

I'd rather die in my sleep, that is my "pick" as you put it.

I find your remark to be quite disturbing.

Thanks for nothing and I'd never wish cancer on anyone, including YOU.

This is a celebratory thread.

I'm glad her husband got tested and is fine.

Just a devil's advocate point.

Doctor friend of mine says eat more fatty food and pray for a heart attack.
